DEDICATION:

my future lover

No. 12

TO THE ONE I’LL LOVE TILL MY VERY LAST BREATH.

By Marta Tereziya

ABOUT THE PIECE

This love letter is to the one I will end up with at the end. There are many more things I could say, but I think they'll hear enough from me as it is. I wanted to explore the idea of the unknown lover, hoping our love would be the most beautiful energy I could ever touch.

To the one I’ll love till my very last breath.

I hope the world is treating you well,

and if it isn't, wait for me just a little more.

I will wake you up with kisses and fresh coffee on your nightstand, or tea,

in whatever way you like it.

I’ll open the drapes to let the sun in a little,

to warm up your skin and the walls of our home.

I will cherish the flowers you gift me,

hang them upside down, and turn them into rose beads.

I won't throw away a single petal.

I hope you’re okay with tears,

crying is essential for every emotion in my body.

I hope to see many sunsets and sunrises
as beautiful as you,

with you.

I hope you forgive me for taking my time.

I just need to find myself before I can find you.

ARTIST:

Born in Ukraine in 2004 and relocated to the United States around the age of 10, I have always been drawn to the arts, feeling an innate urge to express the hidden depths of my mind and heart. The ever-widening disconnect between humans, exacerbated by rapid technological growth, deeply concerns me. This theme pervades my visual work as I pursue a B.F.A. at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). Additionally, I have been writing poetry for a couple of years, which allows me to convey my thoughts more directly, complementing the expressive power of my visual art. Through both mediums, I strive to address and bridge the growing chasm in human relationships.
