grass-stained knees

By: Hannah Javadi

Dedicated to: My sisters, who are my most cherished memories

Info: A poem I wrote in honor of girlhood with my sisters. We grew up all over the place and our only friends were each other. My sisters are my most cherished memories. I feel that the evolution of this poem is important in its sentiment, because it's reflective of my growth: I used to want to be on display, but in returning to myself, I rediscovered a purpose and remembered the ways I used to love.
